Tom founded East Rocky Capital in 2022 and is the firm's sole Portfolio Manager. He has invested in biotechnology since 2009, having begun closely following biotechnology companies while undertaking postgraduate scientific research and later his MBA, developing an early interest in the relationship between clinical developments and biotechnology share prices. 
Before founding East Rocky Capital, Tom founded Moose Hill Capital in 2016, where he developed the investment philosophy and process that he continues to apply today. Earlier in his career, Tom held investment roles at BAM Capital, Kazazian Asset Management, Prospector Partners and Jennison Associates, with experience across global healthcare equities. 
Tom holds a Bachelor of Science in Biological Sciences from the University of Science and Technology of China, a PhD in Neuroscience from the University of Wisconsin–Madison, and an MBA from the Johnson School of Management at Cornell University. He also completed postdoctoral neuroscience research at Yale University. Tom is based in Connecticut, USA.
